Description   This is a fine set of full size 1911 grips made of exhibition grade African Sapele wood. We stabilize our Sapele wood so these grips are durable as well as beautiful. This one-of-a-kind set has exceptional figure and finish with a tremendous depth of chatoyance (3 dimensional effect). The pictures really do not do this set justice--as usual, I am photographically challenged by the glare from the glass-like polish and the 3-D effect is difficult to capture in the photo. Please click on the photo for additional views.  I try to capture the grain by tilting the grips slightly--without a lot of success.  The picture of the wood grain is the board before the grips were cut out and shaped.  The grips have this same figure, it is just very difficult to see in the photo with the curved grip surface.  They will make an absolutely stunning addition to any fine 1911 pistol. (Shown with our 24 line blue and our 24 line stainless decorated grip screws--decorated screw sets sold separately) Our grips are made to exacting specifications with the best quality material available. The critical hole sizes, locations, counterbores, and clearance cuts are thoroughly checked on several frames. These grips fit perfectly on full size Colt, Wilson, Springfield Armory, Kimber, Caspian, etc. 1911 style pistol frames and should fit any full size 1911 frame. They have not been relieved for ambidextrous safeties; however, we can do this upon request.  An ambi cut typically adds +/- 7 days to the shipping time depending upon when an order is placed.  We set the mill up once a week to do ambi cuts.
