Randall Model 16 Unlined
This is an older Randall Model 16 Dive Knife. It has a 7-inch separate "S" stainless steel blade with a sharpened false edge and thumb notches, a brass square-top hilt, a black micarta handle with an unengraved escutcheon and an unlined thong hole, and a Johnson roughback waxed sheath without the "W" stamp. This knife was made during the period 1966-1972. The unlined thong hole was used between 1964 and 1972, the separate "S" from 1966 - 1972, and Johnson started stamping a "W" on their waxed sheaths in the early 1970's. The blade on this knife is has never been sharpened or used; however, the handle shows signs of handling (scratches, bumps, etc.). The sheath shows signs of handling and knife storage. Randall model 16s with an unlined thong hole are relatively rare because Randall made fewer 16s when compared to other models.
